Karel’s letters written during travelling
Well, my biggest fret is that now I can’t lock up a truck etc but am
sort of at the mercy of people I'm staying with, possibly in straw huts
without a door or lock. Thinking of always carrying my most valuable with
me, so definitely a new leaf I will be turning and will have to be very
careful. Carrying my gold in my wallet/pocket at the moment. So far had
to pull it out every time when passed through the metal detectors, but
no one seemed to care at all. They're not very big.
Picked up a new direct customer for an interesting translation and too
bad he didn't tell me how he found me. Am rather curious. Will need to
work on that slowly between this and that, but he gave me two weeks and
not rushing. Translated 30 Euros worth and he will now send me a deposit
payment of 90. Good to have direct customers for that. Have a good night!
Just woke up recently, by a rather rude woman. It's appaulling how many
people are so selfish, uncaring and inconsiderate. She could have walked
five feet further where there was a whole line of empty seats, but now,
she had to slam her arse and throw her back against the chair to practically
throw me out of my sleeping position. And yesterday I nicely asked one
woman if she could slide down a bit so I could sit down after plugging
in my laptop to one of the only few available electrical sockets in this
massive airport. I mean, it's lit up like a Christmas tree and laptops
or mobile phones, the charging of which people would mostly use the sockets
for, consume no more than a 50W lightbulb. Humans can seem unnaturally
uncaring so many times. Gives me a tendency to believe in those wacked
out conspiracy theories that for 5,000 years the evil grey aliens have
been bombarding humanity with negative energy from the moon and mars to
create decencitised zombies who will go along with anything.
Anyway, just this morning it occurred to me that rebooking for flights
the very day can be substantially more expensive and I will definitely
think up a sob story to gain sympathy. Worst case scenario I'll try to
find myself an army of couchsurfer hosts and roam around Turkey until
the day when the price is low enough. Will definitely add spice to my
travel stories...
