Re: unrelaible outsourcer
Dear Sir,
this is a complaint and a warning against an unreliable outsourcer who advertised his projects at TranslationDirectory. I applied to the below project whose owner called Dr. Ali Qassem. This outsourcer claimed that he had a project; yet before assigning this project the vendor should have a test. In fact this was not a test but a small yet hard task from Arabic into English. The following reasons made me suspicious of this outsourcer:
First, knowing that no translator would accept his terms he sent them to me after doing the test for him. The following are examples of his unacceptable terms:( the non-payment of the translator's fees if he didn't deliver him on time, or his work is not up to the quality of the test answered ( pay attention that he wanted a test of ca. 500 words as a sample for a project that ranges from 130.000 to 190.000 words as he claims!)another term is related to the books that should be translated from Arabic into English; yet, the translator's name is not allowed to be mentioned in the translated work ( isn't this a kind of plagiarism?!))
Therefore, I assume that the test was in reality a paid task from a client of his.
second, he ignored my request of providing me with a report of the test since this is my right to know the result of the test. If he was really truthful, he would submit this report as soon as he finished it; nevertheless, this is not the case.
Please do make more inquiries about this outsourcer and let me know about your decision for preserving the vendors' rights.
