Nuvo Wolfsberg- a total scammer
Hello everyone! I would like to share with you my recent experience with a person, who claims to be from London, called Nuvo Wolfsberg. He hired me to translate 40,000 words from English to Bulgarian. The text was about peace-peace theory, what is peace, etc. He offered to pay me via paypal the half of the money in advance and the rest of it when the job is done. Several days after he "assigned" the job to me, he said his sponsor (he claimed that my translation would be read on a seminar and he had some sponsor) couldn't pay via paypal and offered to pay me by check. I accepted, but I didn't start the work. I decided to start it once I get the check. And yes, today the check was mailed to me (no sender) to the amount of 3,500 pounds! It was at least 10 times more of what I expected. I immediately sent an email to Nuvo Wolfsberg, telling him I thought this check was false and that I am planning to go to the police with it. He called me (from a private number) to assure me this check was real and that his sponsor wrote it, not him. His English was awful, so I suggested that he'd write me an email. In his email he explained to me that I should take my part for the translation and to send the rest of the money to the publisher of my work via Western Union. He even provided me the publisher's address, etc. I told him I had deposited the check and that I would do what he wants, even apologized to him for not trusting him. He was really satisfied and even told me "I wouldn't cheat any human being". Lol. This sounded a little like the scam mails starting with "I hope this email finds you in a good health". I went to the police, but they told me they couldn't track the person, cause normally these scammers don't use real names, etc. There was a similar case in Bulgaria, where a woman who was paid for a translation had to send abroad several thousand dollars and after that the bank sewed her, because (after having paid the checks) the bank realized they were fake...but of course, the woman had already sent the money abroad. I am in France and honestly I was hoping the police would be able to do something, but...anyway! Please be aware of this type of scam and fraud...I am really disgusted...If I had translated 40 pages for nothing, I would want to kill the guy, honestly! Has anyone had the same experience? I am still thinking how I can revenge this guy. He still believes I have deposited the checks. Any suggestions are welcome. I have something in mind already :)
