Love One Another! 9/2008 → True Love Waits - Pure Hearts
This is Jesus calling you.
He is inviting you to His school of love, His clinic where
He can heal your wounded heart — the Movement of Pure Hearts
(MPH). Below are excerpts from letters sent to our editorial office.
“I would like a share a great joy with you. Six months ago
I joined MPH. I am delighted, because already I am seeing real changes
in my life. Now I understand that you cannot enter into any dialog
with evil. I am now a different person — discovering the beauty
of a life of chastity”
Matthew;
“I am sixteen years old. Two years ago I joined the Catholic
Youth Association, and just over half a year ago I came across a
copy of Love One Another Magazine in my house. After reading the
pieces on MPH, I knew this was exactly what I was looking for, since
both movements are under the patronage of Mary and Blessed Karolina.
(The Catholic Youth Association is also under the patronage of St.
Stanislaus Kostka.) I learned that striving after a pure heart was
the duty of every member of the Catholic Youth Association. Before
that, my struggle with purity was not very successful. Now I cannot
remain in a state of sin, because it makes me feel as if I had an
artificial heart, as if I was someone’s slave. I struggle
and I am fearful. It is not always easy to go to Confession and
allow Jesus to free me from sin. In two days I will be confirmed.
I trust that this Sacrament will help me to conquer my imperfections
and weaknesses, for we are all called to holiness!”
Eva;
“For years Jesus was knocking at the door of my heart and
I was so callous. I pretended not to hear. Until recently, my life
was full of inner conflicts. My soul was torn between living the
faith and being the person I had always been. This gave me no peace.
I thought it was too late and Jesus did not want me; after all,
I had offended Him so many times! Now I regret all my sins of impurity
and call out to Him: ‘Lord, save me! Save me from falling
into sin again. I trust in Your infinite mercy and boundless love,
which forgives all.’ If I cannot give my future husband the
gift of my virginity, I can at least change my life and give him
something I can still salvage — a pure heart”
Karolina;
“Soon after saying the Prayer of Pure Hearts, I experienced
an inner peace and a purging of the mind. I also noticed that I
had greater control over my tongue, which was not known for its
use of clean language ”
Janina;
“In offering up the Prayer of Pure Hearts, I wish to cut
myself off from everything that adversely affects my life in the
area of purity — especially reading, buying, and watching pornographic
films and magazines. I trust that God will protect me from the influence
of the Evil One in this area. May Mary, my protectress, always be
near me in difficult moments and help me to get up every time I
fall into sin. Mary! I entrust my journey to you. Saint Joseph,
Mary’s Spouse Most Chaste, pray for us!”
Eliza;
“I know the hell of masturbation. It is only thanks to the
love of Jesus that I broke free from it. Jesus gives me the strength
to struggle with my selfishness and weaknesses. The Eucharist, received
as often as possible, and regular confession are now the foundations
of my life. The graces that Jesus pours over me are indescribable.
I feel His closeness and readiness to help. He is the lamp that
lights up my way and gives meaning to life. Thanks to Jesus and
MPH, I hope to be able to discover anew and ever more deeply the
beauties of the Catholic faith”
Madeleine;
“I have been a member of MPH for a year and a half. Thanks
to Jesus, to you, and to plain hard struggle, I have been able to
climb out of the mire that is masturbation. I know that a real man
is not measured by the strength of his arms but by the strength
of his character. I work out vigorously every day and pray as well.
I feel sure that my testimony and the testimonies of many others
like me will strengthen you in your resolve to master this sin.
I know you will succeed. Keep strong in the faith!”
