Message from the Editor, Love One Another! 8/2007

Dear Readers,

This year we celebrate the ninetieth anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima. The Fatima messages are clear and unequivocal. The consequence of man’s rejection of God is hell. Man’s greatest danger lies in remaining in sin, in living life as if God did not exist that is, in our practical atheism. As Pope John Paul II stated in Fatima on May 13, 1982: “Man’s most serious obstacle to God is sin, remaining in a state of sin, and the eventual repudiation of God. By this I mean a conscious rejection of God from the realm of human thought. Divorcing Him from all of man’s earthly activity. In reality, man’s eternal salvation resides in God alone. Man’s rejection of God if it is decisive leads logically to God’s rejection of man (Matthew 7:23; 10:33) i.e. eternal damnation. Can our Mother, who, with all the love inspired in her by the Holy Spirit, desires the salvation of every one of us, remain silent when the very possibility of our salvation remains in question? No, she cannot. Therefore, since Our Lady of Fatima speaks like a mother, her message is strong and uncompromising. It has a grave tone like John the Baptist’s message on the banks of the Jordan. She calls us to penance. She warns us. She beseeches us to pray. Recommends the rosary. That message is aimed at every one of us.”

The Fatima message is still in force. It reminds us of the need for daily prayer and frequent reception of the Sacraments of Penance and the Eucharist. Our Blessed Mother beseeches all of us to become engaged  in the task of saving ourselves, our loved ones, the United States of America, and the world. We know that only Christ’s love can overcome the great peril that hangs over us and all of humanity. But Christ requires our agreement in order to be able to act through us and reach the greatest sinners with His love. We are then called to unite ourselves with the Immaculate Heart of Our Blessed Mother, that she may teach us a lively faith consisting in: 1) turning from sin and living in accordance with the moral norms and teachings of the Catholic Church; 2) praying daily, including the rosary and reading Holy Scripture; 3) going to Mass on the first Friday and Saturday of every Month in atonement for our sins and the sins of the world; 4) making a monthly confession and receiving Jesus in the Eucharist as often as possible; and also, where possible, in fasting on bread and water every Wednesday and Friday.

Dear Readers of LOA! Our warmest thanks to you for your unceasing support of our mission of preaching the Gospel to the countries of the former Soviet Union, Africa, India, and other countries. We thank you also for your prayers, sacrifices, and financial help. In a very special way, we commend our publishing work to the prayers of sick people. Every day, we, in the editorial office of LOA, pray the rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and say Holy Mass once a week for your intentions. Send us your testimonies of graces and healings received. May Almighty God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit bless you and remain with you always.

Fr M. Piotrowski and the entire LOA team
