Details of the project: We at Lionbridge ( www.lionbridge.com ) are working to improve the quality and recognition of languages by collecting data (emails, blogs) to help develop language tools e.g. spell checker and increase the word count for your language. To do this, we are collecting emails from many people world-wide.

SOFTITLER®, a division of Deluxe® Digital Studios, is currently seeking individual mother tongue freelance translators to create subtitles for Hollywood films (mostly in American English) that are subsequently released on DVD (Digital Video Disks) and/or for streaming for Internet video.

It is possible to work with us as long as one has 10 hours availability per week and access to a computer (not Macintosh) of adequate capacity. Preference is given to translators who are in possession of a DSL or higher speed Internet connection.

We ask that interested candidates send us a comprehensive Curriculum Vita in English and subsequently ask them to fill in our Application Form and complete a Proficiency Test as part of the application process. Pophongo Communicator Localisation: Job 00003272

Details of the project: We need approximately 120 text strings- phrases a total of 400 words translated for a software product called www.pophongo.com

We need translation, using UTF8 character set in target language. After the text strings have been compiled into the software, proofreading the final version of the client text strings shall be required.

We would like a quote per word for translation and for proofreading. You can download the software client at www.pophongo.com to see exactly the requirement for translation.

We will also have later requirements for localised website in top 25 languages will be in 3 months.

So the first translation project is opportunity to find good translators for ongoing work for top 25 languages.

Special requirements to the applicants: Please provide your rate per phrase for translation, and rate per phrase for proofreading.

You will proofread your work, but looking at the actual communicator software that contains your translations you can simply download the software, and you select the language you translated, and check the phrases you translated.

We will pay you by UK cheque or credit card. If neither of these are convenient, as the amounts in question are not very large, as a convenience only, if you prefer, we can pay you in telephone calling credits, as it's far less hassle for us as well, we'll add 10% additional value onto your payment if you select this option. The calling credits are used from any phone anywhere, to any phone anywhere, at very low prices. ( UK to US rates = 1p/min for real phones)
