Details of the project: Abstract: A human face
representation and recognition system, based on the
wavelet packet method and the best basis selection
algorithm, is proposed in this paper. Through conducting a
set of experiments on three groups of training sets, the
optimal transform basis (called the face basis), the best
filter, and the best decomposition level are identified
for the face image class. A face image is represented in a
compressed form by its wavelet packet coefficients. For
recognition, the compressed input face image is then
compared against a database of compressed images of the
known faces. The recognition results are presented.

English to Persian Job: Translation
of TV Scripts

Details of the project: A part-time English to Persian translator
is immediately needed for a TV channel broadcasting positive
programming. The channel focuses on spirituality and vegetarianism.
The translator would translate written English scripts for
television programs into written Persian. Fluency in both English
and Persian is an absolute must. Previous translation experience
is desired but not required.
Typical scripts to be translated include news stories, lectures
about spiritual topics, and educational programming. The TV
channel broadcasts on the Internet at
www.suprememastertv.com as
well as in Europe and the Middle East via satellite.
A time commitment of approximately 15-20 hours a week (2-3 hours a
day) is required. The translator is needed to work as many days of
the week as possible, but there is flexibility. As translation
work is done remotely, the suitable candidate may reside anywhere.
The source and delivery format for translation work will be
Microsoft Word. Compensation is via PayPal or Skype.
