Professional Work Experience

CDRS PROJECT OFFICER IN WARSHEIK DISTRICT AT DRC/DDG-MAY 2015 TO JANUARY 2017
• Liaise with District authorities and Government Ministries in the Community Development (CD) areas. Supervise CDRS facilitators to ensure preparation of sound community Development plans through optimal community participation.
• Train CDRS facilitators in community Mobilization project planning, implementation monitoring and Evaluation and financial management. Other relevant duties as directed by the area manager and/or program manager.
• In the absence of Team Leader, oversee field budgets and ensure they are strictly adhered to all supporting documentation for expenses are properly completed.
• Supervise the CDRS facilitators to insure optimal development impact through participation.
• Assist the CDRS facilitators to identify formulate and implement community Development plans (CDP).
• Train DRC-DDG CDRS facilitators in community mobilization, project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
• Asses the need for developing and /or utilizing other community development methods/tools that might benefit program.

• Link closely with the Logistics and Security Officer in this area of concern.
• Ensure that all Project activities related to community safety and recovery are facilitated and implemented in all covered communities/villages in the district.
• Facilitate the formation of mechanisms or structures at the community level that will serve as vehicles for active participation and involvement of all segments or sectors in the community/village.
• Facilitate the development of community plan following the approved CDRS manual, detailing development visions for recovery and community safety.
• Assist the communities in implementing and monitoring their development plan, especially in soliciting support from the wider community, and from local authorities and other development agencies/organizations operating in the district or region.
• Ensure the integration of all community plans into the development priorities of the district or regional government/ministries; Mobilize wider support from other development partners in the district (i.e., both local and international NGOs, UN agencies, among others).

• Take the lead in participatory monitoring and evaluation activities and if necessary train staff and communities on M&E methods.
• In accordance with the INTERSOS M&E Country team conduct or supervise hired enumerators in: Assessments, Baseline Studies, KIIs, FGDs and Evaluations for all project activities

• In collaboration with the field engineer, conduct field visits to confirm that implementation especially at community level, comply with the Operations Manual;
• In collaboration with the MIS Country Officer and national HAP Focal Points, ensure that communities understand how to use the INTERSOS complaint mechanism to submit any complaints they may have about project implementation;
• In collaboration with the Field engineer conduct pre-tender and post-tender meetings with a sample of prospective sub-contractors to discuss quality and expected competence for sub-projects.
• Help to translate community documents from Somali to English;
• Perform other work-related duties as directed by immediate supervisor and/or INTERSOS country team.
• Ensure that all aspects of the M&E operations are carried out in accordance with Intersos Code of Conduct and the DDG Community Safety Operational Guidelines. Report any discrepancies in M&E operations or suggestions for amendment to the Program Manager and M&E Advisor.

FSL PROJECT OFFICER AT CESVI, MOGADISHU, SOMALIA- JAN 2012-MARCH 2013

• Responsible for FSL day to day activity implementation
• Work closely with FSL Project Assistants, and the communities in the planning and coordination of FSL projects

• Ensure correct beneficiary selection procedure and criteria are followed by the FSl Assistants, community mobilisers and committees
