I am a graduate of the Department of EnglishArabic Translation, Al-Azhar University, Egypt. I have also conducted post-graduate studies in Professional Writing and English Linguistics at Middle Tennessee State University.
I have more than five years of practical experience in translation and DTP work. I have worked on a full-time basis for two translation agencies in Egypt. Immediately after graduation I joined FUTURE GROUP which focuses more on localization projects. After that, I switched over to LINGO-SOFT where I undertook the translation and proofreading of translation and localization jobs. Away from my full-time job, I worked as a freelance translator for different translation agencies around the world.
Through these translation agencies, I took part in several localization and translation projects. I did projects for renowned clients such as the UN, UNDP, PayPal, Limousine, Microsoft, Nokia, Samsung, HP, Dell, Oracle, Lexmark, etc. You will find some of these projects stated in my attached résumé.
I am familiar with different translation and localization tools including Trados, SDLX, Across, LocStudio, Logoport, etc. In addition to my translation skills, I have been trained and worked on DTP jobs using a variety of DTP applications, including Adobe InDesign, Framemaker, Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXPress and others. Thus, I am able to handle jobs that need translation, proofreading and DTP.
I am a member of The American Translators Association and a certified member of the Arab Translators Network - Arab Professional Translators Society. I am also a certified member of the Egyptian Translators Association (EGYTA). Moreover, I am a full, certified member of Proz.com.
