Details of the project: Dear Translators and Interpreters,

TERRECO is an international research project aimed at optimizing the provision of ecosystem services to farmers and resource users of the Soyang Lake Watershed in South Korea (www.bayceer.uni-bayreuth.de/terreco/).

It involves a dynamic group of over 15 German, American and Korean PhD students, over 20 faculty members and 3 leading universities in Germany and Korea.

In the context of spring field work for the biodiversity/ecology projects, an on-site full-time interpreter is required between April 20th and May 30th.

The interpreter is needed for field site negotiations with local farmers of the Haean basin. Interest and ability in dealing with farmers, rural circumstances, traditional and non-traditional farming practices are appreciated but not required. Knowledge of the natural sciences is not required.

The ability to communicate, basic negotiation skills and flexibility within an international social setting are required.

Payment to be discussed on the basis of prior experience – transport to the field and full accommodation incl. internet access are provided, as well as exciting, potentially long term collaborations with a highly dynamic network of international researchers!
