My name is Tomas Jezek, I am from the Czech Republic. I have a degree in electrical engineering (1990 – power engineering and electric energy production and distribution) and a state exam in English (1987). My mother and native language is Czech. I have been doing technical and general translations from English into Czech and vice-versa since 1995. I then started with translating mainly texts and manuals related to audiovisual technology, consumer electronics, professional audio equipment and office equipment. I translated for example many manuals for Pioneer hifi and car-audio, Xerox copiers or Electrolux food service equipment. Later I participated in a project of Windows XP help localization into Czech. Among my fields of translation expertise besides those mentioned above are now also law, automotive, machinery, electronics, IT, power engineering, civil engineering, light mechanics and optics, cameras and photographic equipment, marketing and many others. I have also translated several books into Czech (nature) and I did subtitles for a couple of movies. I use CAT tools (Trados) and I also do consistent quality checks using the Xbench tool, which allows me to significantly improve the overall translation quality revealing potential errors that might otherwise remain invisible. I have also some experience as a webmaster (3 years) and I can translate or localize web pages. I am looking forward to a successful co-operation.
