Melanè Engelbrecht, also known as Mel, is a Scribe, Translator, Transcriptionist and can also act as a Chairperson during disciplinary hearings.
Mel is also involved in translation projects for various South African universities. This includes the preparation, typing and layout of study handbooks and company policies and procedures manuals.
Melanè has a passion for the translation of legal documents since that has always been her field of speciality she is grateful for the various translation jobs that she gets entrusted with by various language and translator agencies in the USA, UAE, Australia, Canada and London as well as a few local companies.
As a fully bilingual Afrikaans and English language tutor she has assisted many foreigners and expats to speak Afrikaans fluently from beginner to advanced levels. Most of her students have no prior reference or knowledge on Afrikaans when they start with their first Afrikaans lessons, but by the time they complete the advanced level her students are well capable of taking part in Afrikaans conversations.
As a speed typist with very good attention for detail she excels as a transcriptionist. Mel’s keen interest in languages and her typing skills also opened doors in the media world where she is now also involved in the sub-titling and time coding of movies and documentaries for esteemed broadcasting and publication firms like NBO Vice Media in the UK.
To balance her work life she loves spending time with her adorable husband and their teenagers. As a family they love camping and spending time in the outdoors.
The little me time that she has left for herself she spends on writing fictional novels for online and paperback publications.
