I spent four and half year in my Ph.D. program in Virginia Tech and Utah State University but decided to be a technical writer/translator with my certificate in Biological Engineering because I have a strong feeling that professionality is much needed in the “value chain” of research from experimental design to publication. I started by working as a freelance to translate published research papers in Chinese to English for a “double language publication” project of China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), which owns the largest academic online library in China. With more than 300 full papers (1.5 million Chinese characters) translated with high quality and expertise for publication, I hope to help Chinese researchers in biological sciences to better communicate their work. As the global medication market grows, I have expended my knowledge to clinical trials and biostatistics, as well as regulations of FDA, EMA, and ICH. I have established a corpus of millions of open access medical papers for text mining with the purpose of improving the quality of translation. I am preparing for the membership of American Medical Writers Association.
