I have a degree from the University of Cape Town in English language and literature and come from an upper middle class Afrikaans family (that is to say that I was taught at home and school to speak and write proper and formal Afrikaans). I had both English and Afrikaans as \"first languages\" in my schooling career and have been offering personal and business writing services in both languages since I finished my tertiary studies in 2003.
