Summary
The Deployed Open Source Analysts will be responsible for supporting language requirements within the country of assignment in support of CT activities and the GWOT. The Open Source Analysts will operate within overall framework of statutes; executive orders; NSC, DCI and DoD policy; and appropriate regulations and directives. The Open Source Analysts will deploy for a six-month period to various OCONUS locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position
1. Travel as required to provide direct support to deployed headquarters or operational elements and provide cultural advice to personnel as required.
2. Read open source reporting daily to include newspapers.
3. Provide typed English summary of articles of interest (terrorism, Political, international affairs and other as required).
4. Conduct research in the target language and translation of documents or electronic media to English.
5. Maintain situational awareness of all available Intelligence impacting the OEF-TS AOR, as well as being attuned to worldwide activities of AQIM/AQ, so as to ensure sufficient depth of expertise to answer taskers.
6. Participate in briefings, meetings and other training activity; construct typed reports as required.
7. Prepare formal correspondence in the target Language and in English.
8. Conduct interpretation and translation as required during meetings; telephone conversations; electronic media and various documents from English to Target Language and/or Target language to English
9. Create reports to summarize document translations.
10. Support Train and Equip programs.
11. Support Logistical operations with Interpreter Support, assist in the coordination of goods and services purchased locally.
12. Operate directly with Special Operations Forces conducting operations in Hostile Areas and support Sensitive Site Exploitation.
13. Support Special Operations Operational missions to include direct action operations where Open Source.
14. Support all areas as required or requested by customer.
15. Attend social events with the team and support development of relationships across the Embassy Community.
16. Other duties as assigned to meet operational / mission requirements

Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

-English, French and Hausa.

Education and/or Experience
