KPT is a young vibrant company based in Glasgow, Scotland. The company pursues R&D in cutting edge technologies offering a new paradigm of unique user interface (UI) systems and applications for PC, PDA. Smartphone, Tablet-PC & alternative Mobile Devices.
We currently seek talented linguistic professionals to join our Language & Linguistics team on a contractor basis.
KEY OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The holder of this position will work remotely with the languages and linguistics and product development teams playing a critical role in developing the next generation language capabilities required for our Adaptxt software.
GENERAL TASKS
• To assist in the maintanence and improvement of next generation KPT UI products incorporating international languages, focusing on Hebrew
• To undertake research and provide recommendations for language dictionaries
• To install appropriate dictionaries using remote tools
• To test authenticity, validity and accuracy of all language installations or downloads
• To understand grammar, language construction and nuances of your native language and apply these to the Adaptxt software
• To convert / translate user manuals / documents
• To proof and endorse all current and future language translations
• To assist in the production of language-specific marketing collateral
• To identify important cultural differences via research / experience
REQUIRED BACKGROUND
• Degree in linguistics or translation
• Multilingual capabilities in international languages, primarily Hebrew
• Excellent grammatical skills
• Solid understanding of natural language traits and properties
• Proactive, self-starter, able to work on own initiative
• Excellent:
- Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Presentation
-Proficiency in Microsoft applications
