Translation of native languages specially in slang is a very delicate task and the best option is to get a resource person which is a native of the source language.
Filipino (Tagalog) is composed of evolution of languages and a mixture of local dialects considering that the country is divided into islands and have been through many occupations from the Spanish, Japanese and American and in constant trade with the Chinese and Malaysians ever before the precolonial period.
Through times the playful minded Filipinos have created sub-languages within the Tagalog language, different version of slang among social classes in the society, that non-native speakers might find it difficult to discern metaphorical expressions and even simple expressions might mislead non-natives.
