After over a decade of related work experience and many years of both independent and formal language study, I enrolled at Adelphi University to pursue my Certificate in Translation Studies and have developed a rewarding career in translation services.

I worked for many years as a manufacturer’s rep in the housewares industry, collaborating with Italian and Spanish-speaking product managers to prepare product packaging, advertising, messaging, labeling, and user manuals and how-to guides for major retailers. Before that, I was assistant manager of an online store for string instruments and accessories, and eventually owner of my own company. I directly served many international customers from Latin America and Europe and developed an expansive knowledge of a specialized terminology of string instruments and their parts, components, and accessories. I also worked in the NYC restaurant industry at an independent brewery as communication liaison between Spanish and English-speaking personnel where I developed an extensive knowledge of terminologies associated with beverages and fermentation with emphasis on the production process, packaging and labeling, advertising, event promotion, distribution, and sales, and terminologies characteristic of restaurants in general, including menus, signage, bulletins, advertising, social media publications, and more. I am also an accomplished life-long cellist and university music school graduate, intimately familiar with terminologies pertaining to classical sheet music and scores, academic texts in the theoretical, historical, and pedagogical disciplines, biographies of conductors, musicians, and composers, concert programs, CD booklets and supplemental album information, and journalistic writing in articles, critiques, and reviews.
