My first language is Spanish and I started learning English when I was 9 years old. I studied in a prestigious American bilingual School most of my elementary through my highschool with a scholarship. My 4 year degree is in Hotel Management and Tourism which I obtained in my home country, Nicaragua. I started doing occassional translations for friends and then for the Hotel Industry in Nicaragua where I worked for a period of aproximately 6 years. These were general translations like correspondence, formats or brochures. Later on I worked as a freelance translator for my father who was working on a project of Sustainable Use of Water Resources (SUWaR). This was a project financed by the Swedish International Development Authority (SIDA)in Nicaragua. When I came to live to the USA in 2003, I got a job as a full-time translator and proofreader employee in the Social Science field performing archaeology and geology translations for 9 months working at the Foundation for the Advancement of Mesoamerican Studies (FAMSI) in Central Florida. Additionally, I worked as an Admin. Assistant at the Early Learning Coalition of the Nature Coast (ELCNC) in Central Florida, which is a non-profit organization. My main job was not doing translations but I was the official translator for the organization and I helped them translate different forms and correspondence from English to Spanish for Spanish speaking families. I am presently working as a high school Spanish teacher in a public school. I have been working as a Spanish teacher for three years now teaching Spanish as a second language for grades 9th through 12th.
