My name is Silvia Alonso Ortega and I must confess that languages are my passion.

I graduated in 1999 with a degree in German Philology at the UCM (Complutense University of Madrid) and it was already clear to me then that translating was what I really liked and that I wanted to dedicate myself to it.
When I finished my degree, in February 2000, I had the opportunity to work in a German company in the construction industry translating manuals, brochures and other types of texts. There I discovered that translation was my thing, especially technical translation.
After two years working there and gaining experience, I decided to move to Germany. I stayed there for six years, until November 2008, during which time I perfected my language skills and acquired new knowledge.
When I returned to Spain in 2009, I started working in the German department of an IT company doing different tasks, but none of them related to translation. However, the experience helped me to acquire new technical knowledge in the IT field.
It was then that I decided to register in 2011 as a freelance translator and work as such with all the experience I had gained previously.
Since then, I have collaborated with various translation agencies and companies with whom I have translated all kinds of texts, but especially those of a technical nature. I have become passionate about computers and technology, which led me to decide to train in software and website localization and recently in post-editing.
During all this time, my clients have been satisfied with my work and have continued to trust me, which has allowed me to enjoy every day of my work, facing new challenges and discovering new sectors.
Currently, I am taking a Python course with the intention of getting into the world of NLP and artificial intelligence.
