Allow me to briefly introduce myself,

Hello! How are you? My name is Sofia Kawall. I am a Portuguese native speaker and a fluent English speaker. I recently graduated from Universidade de São Paulo (USP), Latin America's most prestigious school, with a Bachelor's Degree in Portuguese and Chinese, as well as a Teaching Degree in both of these languages.

As to my work experience,

In 2019, I was a Portuguese teacher at São Paulo's 德馨双语学校 (Dexin Bilingual School), located in São Paulo's city center (Luz Station), a private tutoring institution. My job there was to teach remedial Portuguese to Chinese immigrants (kindergarten to high school) in need of extra classes. After having arrived in Brazil, I and my co-workers were to teach Brazilian Portuguese to these children from scratch. I was also in charge of helping Brazilian-born children with a Chinese family background with their school homework. Unfortunately, they are currently inoperative due to the global pandemic.

In 2019, I also translated five academic articles concerning Architecture, Design, and Urbanism, from Portuguese to English.

I am looking forward to broadening my horizons and getting solid experience in the translation job market. As to my work, I pride myself on having impeccable grammar and sticking to deadlines. My schedule is quite flexible: I am willing to stay up all night if that is what it takes to finish a task. Foreign languages have been my passion since I was little, and I want to share my knowledge with the world!
