Details of the project: We are looking for English freelance closed caption editors to work with us for our general services and/or specific client-based projects.
The Closed Caption Editor will simulate, proof and caption all types of media-related content for any/all of the following mediums: DVD, broadcast, theatrical, streaming media, dubbing, gaming and corporate projects.
This work will primarily involve the Captioning medium, in addition to working with text, website, menu, and other mediums.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Update U.S. English spellings or British English spellings.
• Advise on accepted English spelling and language preferences.
• Good comprehension as well as referencing skills
• To decipher geographical accents.
Must be able to demonstrate:
• Excellent command in U.S./U.K. English and strong English grammar skills.
• Well versed in slang and colloquial expressions used throughout the British
Isles and regional variations thereof
You will be provided with:
• Script of the audio (no actual captioning required)
• Guidelines to follow while captioning
Qualifications and experience:
Prior subtitling, captioning, using Subtitle Edit experience preferred.
