Forum for Translators: Re: scope knowledge
Here is another clown. Scope knowledge located at chennai. I cant figure what is wrong with indian companies getting free samples done and they dont get back to you. When you force them to respond, they say the sample was rejected. Chennai India is a huge slum with a pathetic english language, let alone german language.
I was given a series of fragmented german phrases as test material each belonging to a different file with file codes. That itself was dubious. The target english obviously wont reflect a complete sentence. After several days of coaxing they tell me the quality is poor. The entire thing is shady.
here is the silly reply i got from the agency.
Hi Gopi
We are in busy schedule with our normal work, hence we took time to reply for the feedback. Due to our client expecting high standard quality work for this project, our client says this translation work is not up to the requirement. I just want to inform you that only the fragmented sentences are given for translation by the client for this project. In case you have issues in translating the fragmented sentences, you should inform this before doing the sample test. The same quality issue happened for us with your client when we are doing the best quality.
As you know that the quality differs from people to people and people having different views about quality, we are sorry to inform that the quality is not of the expected requirement.
Regards
Ramakrishnan
Don't do free translations - especially for Indian agencies!!! This is sometimes how they get their projects completed free of charge. There is another Indian clown who advertises on this site who hires people to revise Google translations for 0.01 USD lol.
