Forum for Translators: Anika Fikse / anika.fikse@gmail.com (Omar Salah Ibrahim Al-Balawi/Lonaverbas)
Don't accept jobs from Anika Fikse / anika.fikse@gmail.com. It is a fake ID created by the scammer/non-payer Omar Salah Ibrahim Al-Balawi (aka Lonaverbas.
Beware of this scammer/non-payer, currently advertising on TC and contacting translators on an individual basis.
Ivan Li / ivan.li22m@gmail.com
Ivan Li initially posted a job on Elance and pursued e-mail communication after that. When I asked him if we could arrange the job through Elance and organize Escrow payment he never replied - and he's just contacted me again now asking for me to complete a translation job.
Freelancers should always be careful when dealing outside of freelancer sites, particularly if they haven't worked with the client before. I've learnt there are many scammers out there so don't ever complete a project if you feel it isn't legitimate. If in doubt, google their name (like I just did & came across this website) for peace of mind.
This scammer, non-payer and CV identity thief is currently looking for translators for medical files (Novartis) and is also using the email address: projecttranslation@yahoo.com
This crook owes translators thousands of dollars.

He still owes me almost 3,000 USD for several work projects completed last year and has failed to reply to any emails for almost 6 months.
Do not work for this guy, if you don't want to be ripped off.
I have done work for him and he started acting strange so I googled and found this. I started pressing him for payment and after hemming and hawing he said I was to be paid today.
I will update if he actually pays.
So frustrating!!
He did actually issue me payment for the work i did.
If anyone is interested in the email address the payment came from, let me know and I will share it
Sylvia,
I am interested, because this crook owes me approx. $2000 USD + interest. Did you get his full name, address and contact details?
Regards,
WTF
I did not, he still calls himself Ivan Li.
The paypal email he paid me from is myriamlafagefr@gmail.com
and calls itself MyraimTranslations.
The phone number assocciated with the email is listed as
+962 0088 x7878756
but no address is provided and paypal is not able to provide me with one either.
Hope this helps! I was shocked he actually paid (even though he made me eat the fees)
I immediately broke off contact after and have blocked him and will not do any further work for him
Let me know if theres anything else you want to know!
Thanks. You are lucky that you got paid. This is a notorious scammer who actually owes translators thousands of dollars!!!
I´m glad I found out about him when I did or else I would have probably done more work and gotten scammed out of it.
I hope the info helps you try and track him down
I've done one job for him (her ??? lol lol lol) and of course, never be paid. The "test" was perfect but after he said that my job was a google one ! Of course, so easy !
I send maybe 20 mails without any answer.
Of course, Omar, i'm a woman... sob...
