Forum for Translators: False claims in advertising on TD by Indian agency

False claims in advertising on TD by Indian agency               [Reply to this message]

Indian agencies should not bother taking on European languages if they cannot pay at least reasonable European rates.

Look at the below example posted in here. BEST rate considering the volume... for whom? This particular agency lies in its advertising This dishonest agency is NOT offering 0.08 EUR per word and is really looking for mugs to work for 0.02 USD per word or under 0.02 USD per word. This is no more than greed and exploitation. Not even professional Indian translators accept such terrible rates!!!

Please note that this agency is always looking for translators in the same language combination (which is a very bad sign indeed).

Don't bother with ads like this:

Source language(s): German
Target language(s): English

Details of the project: Hi

"Translation In India" is looking for German to English translators for a 50,000 words project.

If you have experience in translating then kindly send your CV and BEST rate (considering the volume).

Subject: Real estate (contracts)

Source file: PDF

This is a low budget project, so kindly quote accordingly.

Kindly mention your best rate per word in the subject line.

Thanks & BRgds
Jai

We will pay for this job 0.08 EUR per word

Who can apply: Freelancers and agencies

What about Chinese LSPs?               [Reply to this message]

What you say applies to Indian and Chinese agencies alike. They're always asking for stupid best rates, and bargain for every single stupid match. Hopefully, some LSPs from those countries won't do such practices, but I'm afraid that's too much hoping. To hell!

Greetings, everyone.
