Re: Did anyone work with Voxtab?
Hello everyone,
I responded to the ad 50838 by Voxtab posted here. For some reason the form through Translationdirectory wouldn't go through, so I contacted the person in the ad directly at Voxtab, indicating where I saw the ad https://www.translationdirectory.com/job_00050838.php, and the job number. The ad was for audio-visual translation to text categorized as transcription in European Portuguese and it paid 50 Euros per hour (whether they mean audio hour was not clear). I got one of those replies that clearly shows they did not read the email. They asked for my CV again (I had attached it in the first email) and said they needed European Portuguese transcribers and they offered 0,60 USD per audio minute. I replied (sent the CV again) and explained I was answering to a job they posted at the rate of 50 EUROS per hour. Of course they didn't reply again (which is ok because I am obviously not going to accept that miserable rate particularly if I know nothing about the project or payment conditions), but today I got another notification from Translationdirectory for the SAME JOB at 40 EUR per hour. It sounds really fishy, but it feels that is how most of these companies operate this days, this market has gone wild in the last few years and I can't tell which companies are a scam and which are not. I'm really looking for non-exploitative projects I can work on from home. Transciptions are hard work, to be doing that at such rate and not know whether I will get paid and in how long is not promising. Anyone knows anything about this company Voxtab. Is there a black list anywhere on the web or on this directory somewhere?
