HI, did you receive the same message, word for word? I,ve been reading about a scam on proz.com and it would appear that the best advice is:
1) if the cheque is for more than the agreed amount, it's a scam
2) if it is for the correct amount you must make absolutely sure that your bank understands not to credit your account until the cheque has been totally cleared
I too have sent my name, address and phone number.
In my opinion Giving them your name and address can,t get you in trouble. Its nt that difficult to get that kind of info. about somebody.
The more I read about it the more convinced I become that it most be some kind of a scam.
It's all a bit strange!
