Re[4]: Non-payer NandY2T2S (Naima Hania)
Here is the client's email
Naima, (This is my client's reply, and I want to tell you that this is the first time such thing happens to me and IT IS YOUR FAULT) I trusted you and the result was loosing an important client!
I apologize for not getting back to you sooner about this. The reason why it took me so long to tell you about this issue is because it didn’t come up until relatively recently. The original German translation was intended to be used in Austria. We were convinced that high German would be enough in this instance, since this was a legal document. Our client came back to us and notified us that we had to use a translator that was either a resident of, or a citizen of Austria. At this point I sought out an Austrian national edit and certify your original translation. As responses from editors started coming in, there was one common theme: the translation was poorly done, and the document would have to be completely retranslated. At this point I decided to go ahead with having an Austrian national completely redo the translation, in order to avoid any further complications. At the same time, I had another German national review the translation you provided for errors. They too concluded that the translation must have been completed via machine translation, Google Translate, or some other means.
Around this time you contacted me regarding the payment for the translation you did. I notified you that we decided to place your payment on hold pending further review and that we could provide you edits, if needed. You may not be aware of this, but right now it is a national holiday in the United States called Thanksgiving. I would have sent the comments to you sooner, but I wasn’t working yesterday.
The first two pages of this document have comments on them. I think these comments are sufficient to support our claim that this translation was not done by a person, or just simply poorly translated by someone who wasn’t qualified to complete this task. Grammar is poor throughout the entirety of the document, and there are quite a few mistranslations and inconsistencies that wouldn’t have been there if a human being had actually translated or reviewed the document.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
