Re[2]: To AARON - HOW TO SEND AN ENDED TASK TO A CLIENT!!!!
Aaron,
This is a great question. I'm going to teach you what to do.
Ask to your client/contact person his company phone number and address. Don't be afraid of calling the company on. Try to contact some dweller of that city and discover some information about the company which is contracting your services. You can do it just typing its name on google, but beyond being a translator we have to be a good detective.
If the company is not phisically established such as those which exists only on sites, you have to ask an advance payment to start your job. About 10% is enough. If they refuse to pay you that little portion in advance, so they are not trustworthy.
First of all you have to explain, politely, why you're asking the 10% in advance AND don't forget to say them that nowadays we have to have some warranty that we'll be paid for our work because of the frauds which are happening everywhere with everyone.
BUT always be polite.
Here in Brazil we have a popular saying: The righteous person pays the sinner's bill.
Unfortunately, a good company has to be treated as if it was a bad one.
Carlos
