The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Alberta (ATIA) was founded in 1979. It is the only association of certified translators, conference interpreters and court interpreters in the province of Alberta that is a member of the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC) . Through CTTIC, the Association is affiliated with the International Federation of Translators (FIT), headquartered in Brussels.
