Following a two-year absence from the profession when I was teaching English at Qatar Aeronautical College, I settled in Limassol, Cyprus in the summer of 2004. Since then I have been working as a full-time freelance translator. I have re-established contacts with many old clients and tapped into important new sources of work. My goal is always to provide accurate translations into natural-sounding English. I am very comfortable with texts of a general, business, financial and legal nature. Over the past few years, I have increasingly specialised in legal translation. For example, between 2006 and 2009 I translated a large number of Turkish documents which were submitted by the defence as exhibits in a case in which Ferrero successfully defended fraud claims brought against it by Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, UFJ and KBC Bank NV. I have become quite familiar with the Turkish legal system and, to a lesser extent, with the de facto legal system in northern Cyprus.
