I am English, born in London, where I completed my education and the first years of employment. In 1989 I relocated to Spain (where I have been living for the last twenty five years) with the aim of furthering my career and so broaden my horizons. I have a good command of the English language (my mother tongue) and am fluent in Spanish, both written and spoken. I am currently working as an English teacher and a translator. I hold a Diploma in Translation certificate (set by the Chartered Institute of Linguists in London and imparted by the British Academy, Barcelona) and have translated work for the council which has been published.
Though my educational and professional background in England was based on geology and natural sciences (higher level degree attained and a scholarship to continue my studies to PhD level), I have also been working in the field of literature. I have translated and proofread articles for various clients including Córdoba council, private international schools in Spain, and other private sources.
I am currently negotiating with literary agents in London on a fantasy/fiction book I have just finished writing (90,000) words), and I am also working on a second that describes the cultural and historical background of Andalusia.

I do not use the Google translator, but I do consult a wide range of dictionaries, professionally written articles, forums and our translators circle in Córdoba.
