I have worked in the language industry for nine years - four years in-house as a translator, subtitler, editor and trainer at a well-known Berlin subtitling and translation agency. During my time as an in-house translator my responsibilities included:
- translating and editing text translations on film and media, tourism, PR and marketing, urban development, educational policy, European Union matters and various other fields
- subtitling and editing feature films and documentaries on a wide variety of topics
- organizing bi-annual introductory subtitling courses and in-house training courses on editing and translation software
- training and mentoring interns
- liaising with freelancers and clients
- compiling style guides for multi-lingual translation projects
- creating and managing translation memory databases

I have been working as a freelance translator, subtitler and editor since December 2009 and collaborate with various agencies and direct customers in Germany, Austria and the UK.
