Johanna Stange was born in 1980 in Vancouver, Canada to German parents. German is therefore her mother (and father!) tongue, but she is a native English speaker. After completing high school in Vancouver, she lived in the UK from 1998 to 1999 completing university courses, and finished her Bachelors degree in Environemtal Studies at the University of Waterloo (Canada) in 2002 with Honours.
She has worked in the arts and performance sector in Berlin, as well as in the pharmaceutical consulting industry, and from 2008-2009 worked as a sustainability analyst for an environmental strategy consulting firm in Ottawa. In August 2010 she completed her MSc at the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands in International Development Studies.

Having a natural affinity for languages, Johanna began learning Turkish during a stay in Istanbul. As a translator she combines her skills in this area with her environmental background and international experience. Johanna also has some experience as an interpreter. She additionally translates FR>ENG and FR>GER texts.

Johanna has been doing translations, proofreading, and transcriptions since 2004. With frequent visits to Canada and the UK, she continues to develop both her specialist technical and her linguistic knowledge as a freelance translator, with satisfied customers throughout Europe as well as Canada.
