I could still remember my first translation done in 2004 for a patent with title 'funeral vehicle'. I did not know a single technical term in that document however I had finished it and got selected as a technical translator. I worked three years as full-time translator cum abstractor(copyeditor) for french, european, belgium, US patents. I could say I have covered almost all the technical domains including agriculture, child care, viticulture etc., etc., etc. Then I changed my career in technical voice support for french native speakers by troubleshooting their technical issues of their desktop, laptop, blackberry and applications such as MS Outlook, Lotus Notes, MS Office while continuing freelance translation.
