My special topics are fine art (degree in art history as well as German and Italian) and classical music (trained classical pianist) and I have a great deal of experience in working for museums, galleries, Zurich Opera, Lucerne Festival and other classical music institutions. Having worked for a management consultant and three years for a major Swiss bank and insurance company, I also have a good command of the banking and insurance vocabulary. As an interior designer I have excellent knowledge of antiques, fabrics, and so on, and have contributed to many prestigious interior design magazines, both as a journalist and a translator.
My aim is to produce beautifully written translations that do not read like translations! I attach great importance to a polished but natural and idiomatic style. I am also an experienced editor, proofreader and journalist. Besides German I have an excellent command of French and Italian and would like to work more with these languages. |
