I’m a professional translator, working since 2003. My native language is Russian, and I’ve been studying English since 1992, so I can translate from it into Russian and vice versa. Videogames are one of my biggest passions, and they make the most part of my work. I’m familiar with all the genres and all the existing platforms. Games translation is more than a work for me. There are people who don’t really care what to translate: electric kettles manuals, license agreements or a brand new game, but for me videogames are special. I’m a gamer myself and I know what it’s like to play a poorly localized version, so I always try to make the best of my translations. I’ve had a chance to work with many famous titles, like World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, Bioshock, Warhammer Online and Tabula Rasa. I keep on working for both Russian and foreign companies, and I do hope I’ll never run out of orders. I also work in other areas, such as literature, computers, Internet, telecommunications, automobiles and education. I’ve been also learning Japanese since 2008, and I can make simple common translations, like news, magazines, short stories and some products descriptions. Normally I translate 3000-5000 words per day, and can use the SDLX software if needed. My rate is $0.05 per source text word for English and Russian languages. Please note that I’m not making any free translation tests. I’ve got some free samples on different topics to show, they’re available upon request (I’ve seen my sample translations taken and used by other people, so I don’t’ publish them now). If you’d like me to translate something particular as a test, I’ll charge my normal rate for it — $0.05 per source text word (English). Also keep in mind that I cannot accept PayPal transactions, because this system doesn’t allow Russian citizens to do so. I accept Moneybookers payments, direct bank deposits and checks. Looking forward to hear from you. | |
