Although it may seem that I have been a translator for only a short time, it is important to note that I did some translation work for Shell Portugal in 1984-85, and for a Agriculture Company at the same time. I then chose to turn into full-time teaching. There were many times when I had to travel abroad for meetings with other teachers and organizations that were kind enough to offer training to our students. Therefore, although I refer 2006 as the year when I began my work as a freelance translator, the truth is that I have been doing it forever.
