I am currently finishing a PhD at the History Faculty (Cambridge, UK). I work on Italian history, that made it necessary for me to be able to think both in Italian and in English, as well as to translate parts of texts from one language to the other. Moreover, since 2011, I have been practicing translating and ghost writing, from English into Italian (and sometimes viceversa) for some academics and for a journalist.
Since 2012 I have been appointed book review assistant editor for an international journal (Nuncius. Journal of the material and visual history of science). This task required both the ability of editing English and Italian texts, and of translating some of the books reviews from English into Italian. I usually pay lots of attention to extrapolating and understanding the meaning the author wishes to convey, and try to transport the multiple facets of the written piece in its translated version.
