For me \"localization\" goes beyond translation and consists in adapting a product to a certain target market.
Take an English website for instance. Translation would mean taking its content and translating it to another language, totally in disregard of whether content is actually relevant to the target public.
Localizing it would mean adjusting it to a foreign speaking audience.
Thus localizors are professional translators who are qualified for this task, whose experience and competence enable them to provide translation services aimed to give a website an international and professional quality.

Said linguists take into consideration the cultural variations in sayings, metaphors, terminology and phrases in many fields such as legal, technical, marketing or business translation.
