Generally, I work as civil servant at Railway Administration Executive Agency at the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Bulgaria. Currently, I am on maternity leave and practice full-time as a freelance English-Bulgarian translator for a few translation agencies in the field of finance and accounting, law, institutions, policies and legislation of the European Union, management, energy and many others.
During my work for the Ministry of Transport I have gathered significant experience in the field of application of EU legislation in the transport sector (the railway field). I have translated a large number of documents since I was in charge of the liaison with relevant EU institutions, and have interpreted at meetings between representatives of the Ministry of Transport and other Bulgarian institutions and the European Council, the European Railway Agency, and other EU bodies. On behalf of RAEA, I was responsible for a twinning project between RAEA and the French Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development, whose official language was English, and for a one-week training on ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System) in Madrid, Spain, under the TAIEX program of the EC. In both events, I was actively involved as a translator and interpreter.
I also have an extensive experience as a translator for the most prominent business and economic magazine in Bulgaria “Manager”, where I have worked both as a contributing columnist and as a translator for the English-Bulgarian language pair. For nearly three years I also worked on the English edition of “Manager” and I translate from Bulgarian into English the Management, Economy, Media and Modernity sections, which
My translating experience and my Master’s degrees in economics and English philology have developed in me interests in the world of business and finance, the institutions and policies of the European Union, culture, literature, mass media, and many others.
