N.S.S. CAMP
The 10 days camp in N.S.S. is a must for every volunteer
to attend in his 2 year tenure. It is really the best
experience a N.S.S. volunteer can have.
This year also the N.S.S. Unit of Mithibai organized a
non-residential 10 days camp which was held at Balwadi in
Shastri Nagar. It was an urban slum and the unit planned
to work on it. The ten days camp was for the awareness of
people on the various problems from hazards of plastic to
consumer rights.
As the main idea of the camp was to spread awareness among
the slum dwellers, street-play was thought to be the most
effective medium for the same.
Various topics were chosen and skit performed. This was
followed by one to one interaction with volunteers and the
slum-dwellers. This made the work of creating awareness
easy as also it was possible for the unit to get an
instant feedback.
Another initiative taken within the 10 days camp tenure
was to visit an activity centre with some slum dwellers as
also taking some of the slum dwellers in Juhu-Beach
cleaning programme. This was done to bridge the gap
between the slum dwellers and volunteers and develop a
concern for the surrounding.
The Camp was for social and personal well-being of the
volunteers too.

Marathi Job: Multiple language project

I am Biraj Rath, Director Marketing at Braahmam Net Solutions in
Delhi, a 7 year old localization company.
We are looking for an experienced translator from English to
Marathi (Unicode font).
Knowledge of Trados or Wordfast would be great! The work is for a
mobile phone and Web development related company. Large volume of
