Details of the project: This position entails translation of technical and scientific material from one or more languages into correct, idiomatic English using a computer word processing program. On occasions, the linguist will translate words, phases, and documents into the target language. This contract will assist the production offices in meeting the requirements for the collection, analysis, evaluation of geographic names and boundary intelligence found principally in foreign language sources. This contract will also assist in the population of the Geographic Names Data Base (GNDB). You will be located in Bethesda, MD and doesn’t require any deployments OCONUS.

We offer lucrative wages with full medical and dental benefits, as well as, relocation assistance up to $3500. You will also receive 10-paid holidays and 12-paid vacation days. We also offer 401k and after your first year you will be automatically enrolled in our Profit Sharing Program. In addition, we offer a $1,000 referral bonus for qualified candidates who are not in our database of Linguists, who have been accepted onto any of our contracts and it will be furnished once they’ve started at their work site.

Special requirements to the applicants: All candidates must possess the following criteria:
-DLPT or ALTA language test score level 2 in reading
-Ability to summarize time sensitive items
-TS/SCI
-Translation of written, audio and multi-media formats from English into the target language
-Basic knowledge of Geography, Cartography, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
-Basic map reading skills
-Skills, knowledge and understanding of GIS applications (i.e. ArcGIS or GeoMedia Pro)
-The candidate’s spouse, siblings, parents, and children all MUST BE US CITIZENS
(Classes for ArcGIS are possible for qualified candidates and a waiver may be obtained for family members who are not US citizens)
