We are looking for a native speaker of the target language with extensive experience in the subject matter in question and/or more than 1 year of uninterrupted experience in translation.
The candidate must have a passion for languages and must be willing to work in CAT tools (in this case, our own tool, Coach).
They must be willing to take a test on a text chosen by us, following certain guidelines and references.
It’s fundamental that the candidate be flexible and not a perfectionist - post editing of machine translation is a very complex service whose aim is mainly to make the source text understood and accessible rather than make it stylistically acceptable.
A fast typer and decision maker when it comes to variants of translation choices to make the text accurate and readable (what and how to correct).
Ability to balance post editing speed without affecting the requiring quality and to adapt to the level of quality and various specifications required (Full or Light editing).
Additional requirements would be a plus, such as previous experience with post editing of machine translation, general knowledge of the challenges posed by machine translation, excellent word-processing and editing skills, capacity to research topics and terminology quickly and efficiently when required and expertise on the subject matter of the text.
The perfect candidate would be organized and flexible about his work in general, patient, disciplined and committed, computer literate and detail oriented.
