Forum for Translators: jack wind translation from China

I moved the topic from non-payers, perhaps someone who worked for this company will notice it here:
I'm a newbie here and I'm wondering after what time I should start worrying about not getting paid. I did a small translation job (for some 250 USD) for this Chinese company www.jackwind.cn I completed the job as ordered and it was accepted by Mr Jack Peng but for the last 40 days I've heard nothing from them (trying to reach them using various e-mails and using their various e-mails). I know that they have had a couple of jobs here, now and before, and perhaps someone who did the same translation into another language (http://www.translationdirectory.com/translation_jobs/older_postings/_tetum_translation_jobs_older_001.php) could let me know if they got paid or not. In any case, it's really odd not to have heard a word from them since completing the job

It would not surprise me if Jack was that Donald Fang character who was ripping people off a while back.

Actually, I would stay clear from outsourcers from China, India and the Middle East if they use free email accounts.

Dear Marcin and Charles,

I'm Sándor Almási, freelance translator from Hungary. I've recently translate a manual of a video camera (Rollei Action Cam 300, 275 USD), it was accepted. He said he pays in 30 days but in the last 47 days I've received only one e-mail from him (7 days ago). He said my translation is accepted and he get back to me on 5th September but he didn't. He has also mentioned that he (and his so-called company, I guess) moved to a new building.
Anyway, I send e-mails to him everyday (jack@jackwing.cn and andy@jackwind.cn) but no response.

If you happen to know any other e-mail address of him please let me know.

Best regars,

Sándor Almási

Hi Sándor
Any news of/from him? We've done exactly the same job. Have you tried using his website? It's just awaful.
I've got these addresses:
JACK PENG <jack@jackwind.cn>,
jackwind311@hotmail.com,

I also tried to contact him using my aliases but to effect. I hope it's going to be sorted out soon

I think you're right, he's not going to pay. As I hate being cheated like that (all of us do, I suppose), I've decided to send him notifications vis moneybookers to all his e-mail addresses, every day, so perhaps he'll get tired of that

I think the best if you forget that cheater. I try to focus on new - hopefully more reliable - projects.
