Re[2]: Real Translator Jobs- Scam or not?
I just saw the ad when noticed on another page. I have been looking for a simple home based work, and this kind of thing would sound perfect since I have always loved the idea of being a translator. Anyway I immediately thought this must be a scam since it sounds too easy to be true and how the web site was build. I have done another job where I saw a lot of scam pages and there are good signs for such.
Usually the page does not have much information about the company (narrow explanation about the job, maybe address and email address, but if you go to the address it does not look anything like an official office or business)and it looks a bit fake(to my eyes at least since I have seen so many of them that I can tell the difference quite easily, they never look professional website but more like a click-on ad).
When asked they do not provide much information about how the payment is done, what is the tax policy etc. Often there is negative experiences on internet about the company unless it has just started. So I would advice to examine all these " simple home work with a good payment" promises or some other "easy way" offers. Unfortunately most of them are scam sites. There are however some companies that do actually have a nice job that is home based and I was lucky enough to work for one (the job mentioned above with scam page checking etc)of those companies.
The problem was the tax policy is different in each country and that can cause problems, just like it did to me. I had to quit the job I really liked because the tax policy did not recognise the internet based half freelancer work. Good luck to everyone who wishes to get a job.
